Helen Randall didn’t start out as a grant writer. In 2002, she hired on to help a friend. That seeded a multi-million-dollar agricultural university center. Since then, grants have successfully been written by HKR for not only agricultural businesses and innovations, but in other industries and technologies. Grants have helped build multi-purpose sports complexes and learning centers in Iowa communities. They have brought about investment in flood mitigation that simultaneously provided a city with cultural hot spots. They have opened markets for new seed and field management technologies. They created an avenue for $14 million in U.S hands-on assistance in another country, torn by wars. And they have formed pools of money for lending into the smallest of businesses and startups.

Those are just a few examples. Grant writing is not the only thing the HKR team does. But we do it well, offering experience and insight.
“I have used the services of HKR Communications for more than 15 years in my positions at three major research universities. The work has been varied and extensive, bringing in more than $20 million in federal resources and wide-ranging support. More recently I used HKR to craft a strategic vision at one of the universities . . . . The work of HKR is always professional, well written and on target.” – Mary Holz-Clause, Dean of Agriculture, Calfornia State Polytechnic University, Pomona
